| When you open up Explorer or My Computer Windows XP automatically start searching for network folders. This can be easily disabled.
- Select "Start"
- Then double left -click on the "My Computer" icon and you should see the following:
- Select "Tools" > "Folder Options..." > "View" and de-select "Automatically search for network folders and printers" as per below:
